This is to pay the premium for the Potential Risk Chancel Indemnity Policy for your specific property.
The charge, which is a one off payment, includes the policy premium and all admininstation charges for obtaining the policy and placing the policy on risk.
The cover does not require policy holders names as they will be sought and cross-referenced from land registry data at the point of claim. This policy is not transferrable to subsequent owners.
Chancel liability requires land and homeowners to contribute towards works carried out on the part of the church containing the altar and the choir (the Chancel) of an Anglican parish church. Chancel Repair Insurance provides cover in the event of a claim from neighbouring churches in relation to such repairs.
Only order this product if you can confirm 'yes' to all the following Assumptions:
- The Property is a single residential dwelling or flat and this use will continue - Yes
- Cover is required for the buyer and lender only and not successors in title - Yes
The Title to the Property contains no reference to a chancel repair liability and the current owner is not aware of a chancel repair liability applying - Yes
There have been no chancel repair demands received or made and no enquiries exchanged with the church authorities relating to the chancel repair liability - Yes
